AyP Sound ("we", "us", "our") operates the foley mobile application and the aypsound.com website. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our services.

Sound Recordings & Licensing

By recording and uploading a sound through the foley app, you grant AyP Sound a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, distribute, and sublicense your recording through the foley platform and API. See our Terms of Service for full details.

We do not include any personally identifiable information in the sound file metadata. Recordings are associated with your anonymous creator profile for the purpose of awarding Creator Credits only.

Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect a minimal set of information necessary to operate the service: your email address (or Apple Sign-In identifier), a display name of your choosing, and your device's general location (city-level only, used to tag where a sound was recorded).

We collect audio recordings you choose to submit through the app. These recordings are stored on our servers and made available through the foley platform as described above.

We collect basic app usage data to improve the service, such as which features you use and how often. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs that track you across other apps or websites.

Creator Credits

Creator Credits are reward points used within the foley ecosystem to recognize and reward contributions. We maintain records of your credit balance and transaction history (credits earned from recordings, Royalties from card engagement, tips received, and credits spent on bounties or platform features).

Creator Credits are not transferable outside the platform and have no cash value. They cannot be traded, sold, or exchanged for money.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and improve the foley app, process and store your sound recordings, maintain your creator profile and Creator Credit balance, communicate service updates and respond to support requests, and prevent abuse of the platform.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Sound recordings uploaded to foley are freely available for download through the platform. We may share aggregated, anonymized usage statistics with partners. We will disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Enterprise customers who access our sound library through the API receive sound files and their metadata (categories, tags, recording conditions). They do not receive your personal account information.

Data Storage & Security

Your account data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS). Sound files are stored on Cloudflare R2. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal account data at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Note that sound recordings you have already uploaded and that have been accessed by other users may remain in the library per the license granted in our Terms of Service.

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. This will remove your personal profile data. Removal of previously uploaded recordings is subject to our Terms of Service.

Children's Privacy

foley is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at [email protected].

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
